“I still do not have all the answers but I am beginning to ask the right questions”(Lee Lorenz)

What makes us grow up? Where was mama when everyone was baby? How sun rises? Why it shines? Why do the leaves fall? Why the sky is blue? Why everyone go to school? Why we study? Why I have to put on the uniform? These are the ‘Why’ questions which are test of tolerance for elders. Kids at the preoperational stage which ranges from 2 to 7 years ask such questions because he wants to explore the world he see, things he hear or do and wants to learn how to begin conversation.

When he go to school, is curious about things and ask questions, these questions are entertained to some extent, afterword teacher gets irritated and scold him. When he gets back home, ask ‘whys’ but his mother did not give an ear to him. He go outside to play with mates, there when he find elders, started asking same questions but they ignored him as he is no where around.

According to one of the journals, children of 6 years ask 1 question in one hour class per one month. But this can be overcome when child is encouraged to ask questions at home and they are answered with appreciation. Steve job, pioneer of personal computer revolution was always discouraged in the class but he was appreciated by his family and even neighbors. His father allows him to access the tools so that he could figure out how things work. His neighbor develops his interest in electronics, she not only tells him how things work but how he can make them work. His family and neighbors do not suppress his creative skills which was actually stamp down by his teachers. Every successful person has someone in childhood who fosters him towards something great.

It is said that the more a child ask questions, the more he is intelligent but this is only possible when he is encouraged to ask questions, this even results in the highest I.Q of the child. So paying close attention to toddlers is the fundamental step towards his success but when his questions are ignored, a pattern of not feeling understood develops which results in the loss of his lust for learning.
