Mobile phone services are being suspended in various cities of Pakistan on Friday.
However, mobile phone service has already been suspended in the city of Chakwal.
Moreover, Federal Interior Ministrer, Rehman Malik, has ordered Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to suspend mobile phone services in 60 cities of Pakistan on the day of Eid Miladun ul Nabi (PBUH).
According to DawnNews, PTA has ordered to suspend mobile phone services in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Muzzaffargarh, Bhakkar, Sialkot and other 24 cities of Punjab.
In the province of Sindh, mobile phone services will remain suspended in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Khairpur, Larkana and Naushero Freoz.
Moreover, services will also remain suspended in the provincial capital of Kyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar and Dera Ismail Khan.
Moreover, Section 144 of the Criminal Code was also imposed on the Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) procession’s route in Lahore, where pillion riding, one-wheeling, riding motorcycles without a silencer would be prohibited. Entry of heavy vehicles into the procession has also been banned.
Section 144 was also imposed in Rawalpindi Peshawar and Karachi in order to maintain security in the city during the 12th Rabiul Awwal celebrations.
Pillion riding, use and display of weapons and use of any kind of fireworks have been banned on Jan 25 and 26, 2013 in Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar.
People are also prohibited from standing on or going to the rooftops of the building along the route of the Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) procession in Rawalpindi, according to DCO Saqib Zafar.
In Peshawar, more than 1300 police personnel have been deployed to guard the processions routes while the entire city would remain sealed after Juma prayers. – Dawn.com
