Pakistan beat India to secure bronze at Champions Trophy

MELBOURNE: Pakistan came back from a goal down to beat India winning the bronze-medal match of the Champions Trophy 2012 in Melbourne on Sunday.

Muhammad Rizwan senior, Shafqat Rasool and Mohammad Atiq scored a goal each to help Pakistan secure third place in the tournament.

India gained the lead in the first half after scoring the first goal on a penalty corner goal, early during the high-paced match.

Pakistan Muhammad Rizwan scored the equaliser soon after. The scores were level at the end of the first half.

Pakistan received five penalty corners.

Both teams missed several chances to score.

Muhammad Ateeq scored the decisive goal with five minutes left on the clock to seal victory for the greenshirts.
