For Manny Pacquiao, the joy of bringing honor to the Philippines is too big of a deal for him to step out of the boxing ring just yet.

Pacquiao, fresh off a loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. last May, said he still has no intentions of on hanging up his gloves at 36-years-old. “I can retire, but in my heart I’m happy to give honor to the Philippines,” Pacquiao said during an appreciation dinner the Inquirer hosted for him Wednesday night. “That’s what encourages me as a boxer.”

“In my heart, it’s not about the material things or the money, it’s the honor I give to the Philippines.” Pacquiao said all his accolades he received are not for him but for the Philippines and his country men.

As boxing’s only eight-division World Champion, Pacquiao has achieved a feat only he has done.
“Anywhere in the world, when people find out you’re a Filipino, they will always remember Manny Pacquiao.” CFC
