Some grow up with mountains and some choose mountains to grow spiritually. Mountains are symbol of peace, tranquility, spiritual awakening, strength, silence, endurance, magnificence and change. Mountains face all with dignity from fire to snow.

“Thousands of tired, nerve shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out going to the mountains is going home; that wilderness is necessity”   John Muir

Have you ever visited mountains amidst the chaos and felt yourself at peace? Mountains are a true reflection of our inner self. Mountains show us the power we have over any situation. Mountains witness four seasons and change beautifully. Mountains change over time but stay calm. This magnificence which mountains carry is the result of changes over time. Mountains are actually us; changes make us strong and calm.

Mountains teach us to don’t rush things. When we look deep into the succession, we will know that it takes years for a forest to rise from foliage lichen. Mountains absorb everything. They welcome every storm without losing their worth. They have endurance to accept all the severities. That sense of accomplishment when you climb a mountain is priceless. That inner joy and sense of achievement is a reminder that you can overcome your problems with consistency and courage.

“It’s not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.” Sir Edmund Hillary

Historically mountains are known for wars but these wars have not snatched the spiritual value a mountain carries. A home for war, refuge, travellers, monk, innocent, and warrior and still so silent and beautiful the mountains are. Mountains teach us acceptance. No matter what circumstances you are going through, stay strong and don’t lose your integrity. Every situation we go through is a lesson. We are tested for our faith and beliefs. Mountains hide treasures behind their rough terrain. We discover ourselves through hard times. Patience in difficult times, gratitude when you have everything and having the quality of giving is what make us.

Mountains are not beautiful only in one season but throughout the year. Only one phase of life can’t decide our worth but our response to every moment is what makes us. Have you ever seen a mountain disappear after a heavy rainfall or snow? No, Mountains stay strong. If you find yourself in the middle of something very uncertain then remind yourself that you will overcome this. We are naturally made this way. We can tolerate more than we think. We are like mountains and we are supposed to face this all with faith and integrity. Whenever you feel low just remind yourself that after every winter comes spring.

If you’re a dreamer, just remind yourself that world will never believe you until you reach at the top of the mountain. You will feel alone sometimes, tired and helpless. There will be times when your own dream will make no sense to you but remind yourself that you are about to climb an undiscovered mountain. Others will follow you one day but follow your heart right now. The more uncertain a situation looks the more thrilling will be the journey. A person with a dream is a mountain with treasure. To accomplish a dream is to discover a treasure. May we all climb mountains and find the treasure; the purpose of life.

“May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.”  Edward Abbey
