Morning prayers held across the UAE to mark Eid Al Fitr

The UAE will celebrate the first day of Eid Al Fitr today with mosques and musallas across the country holding prayers today morning to mark the end of the month-long fast held during the holy month of Ramadan.

Hundreds of people could be seen gathered outside mosques and other open spaces, lawns and stadiums for the morning prayers, and embraced each other as soon as the prayers ended.

Different parts of the country will host special events and celebrations to mark the occasion, with one of the highlights being the fireworks at 9 pm at Dubai creek on all three days of Eid.

Eating joints have prepared special menus and shopping malls are running schemes, raffles and mega discounts to mark the occasion.
