Metro Buses coming in Pakistan

An agreement for the purchase of buses for Metro Bus Service Project was signed between the Punjab government and the Turkish company, Albarak, in addition to a memorandum of understanding between WASA and another Turkish company, IFKI, in Istanbul.

The signing ceremony was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Governor Istanbul Mehmet Mutlu, Mayor Kadir Topbas, Chairman LTC Khawaja Ahmed Hassan, MPA Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed and other officials concerned.

The agreement for purchase of buses for Metro Bus Service Project was signed on behalf of Punjab government by the Project Director of Metro Bus Service, Sibtain Fazal-e-Haleem and a representative of the Turkish company. Under the terms of the agreement, Platform, a subsidiary company of Albaraq, would look after the matters of provision of buses for metro bus service, their maintenance and operation, while Punjab government would extend necessary facilities in this regard. The memorandum of understanding was singed by Punjab government’s Finance Secretary Tariq Bajwa, on behalf of WASA, while a representative of Turkish company, IFKI, signed it on behalf of his company. Under the memorandum of understanding, the Turkish Company, IFKI, would reconstitute WASA on the pattern of Lahore Solid Waste Management, besides its capacity building.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Shahbaz Sharif said that Turkish government and its companies are equally participating in the progress and prosperity of Punjab. The CM said he is thankful to the Turkish leadership and Turkish companies for ensuring promotion of investment in the Punjab. He said that Punjab government is also deeply grateful to the Governor Istambul and the Mayor Istambul for their cooperation and personal interest in this regard.
