Manny Pacquiao has shown he is a smooth operator both inside and outside the ring, after the Filipino boxer bought a multi-million pound mansion using a unique bartering tool.
According to USA Today, Pacquiao brokered a deal with a Beverley Hills real estate property owner by using his upcoming mega-fight with Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather as a makeweight to secure the $12.5million mansion of his dreams.
Tickets for the May 2 fight in Los Vegas’ MGM Garden Arena will not come cheap, and when the Pac-Man found himself in a bidding war for the 10,000 square-foot property, he had the perfect card up his sleeve – four tickets to the show.
The 36-year-old’s estate agent Elsa Nelson said: ‘No doubt [adding the tickets into the deal] helped.
‘The sellers are great fans of boxing and of Manny, so it was a big deal.’
Just from a quick tour of the mansion – which was once reportedly owned by hip-hop royalty Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs – you can see why the extra sweetener was needed.
