Indian Police detain a Kashmiri student protester who fainted during a protest in Srinagar. The students were protesting against the results of their third year examinations, in which most of the students failed. Police used batons to disperse hundreds of female paramedic students protesting outside the health department’s office in Srinagar, the main city in Indian occupied Kashmir. Police said at least four students were injured as police used batons following a scuffle with the crowd. A local journalist covering the protest was beaten and detained for an hour by the police. Police in India’s portion of Kashmir are instructed to keep the media away from protest sites.
