Japanese security outfit develops security camera that is also a motorcycle?

Japan Security System Co., a Japanese security outfit with a less than imaginative name, wanted to develop a new high-definition security camera for use with their clients. The problem – or wonderful fortune, depending on how you see it – is that they contacted Chicara Nagata for it. Not only a graphic designer, Nagata is world-renowned for his unique designs for custom-made high-end motorcycles, and we don’t actually know what JSSC was expecting, but it seems logical that what they got back from the designer was a hybrid mix between a high-tech camera and a 49cc motorcycle.

Nagata is a wonderful talent, when designing motorcycles, that is (check out the gallery at the bottom of the article). When JSSC left it to Nagata, giving him complete freedom how the security camera should look like, we are not surprised that it turned out to be this amazingly designed motorcycle-slash-camera hybrid. The whole thing – whatever they may choose to call it (we’re still a bit confused right now) – is built around a simple motorcycle design that has a tiny 49cc Honda gas engine and several consumer-level Sony surveillance cameras. Instead of headlights and tail lights, Nagata put in HD Sony cameras — complete with night-vision LED lights — with two more cameras built into the seat pan, looking out both sides. The motorcycle effectively has 360-degree vision, and someone can actually ride it. Bet your bottom dollar JSSC didn’t expect to get something like this… see more
