Dubai, UAE, February 21, 2016 – IMA (Institute of Management Accountants), one of the largest and most respected associations focused on the advancement of management accounting and financial professionals, has introduced a new Foundational Financial Accounting Certificate (FFCA).Visit http://imamiddleeast.org/ima-corporate/foundational-financial-accounting-certificate-ffactm to learn more.

The launch of this certificate in Arabic as well as English, was inspired by a need in the market that IMA wanted to fulfil. As companies strive harder to enhance bottom-line profitability, it becomes more crucial for key employees to have a basic understanding of accounting and financial terms and concepts. At the same time, those in the financial sector need to brush up their skills and refresh their memories on fundamentals they had once learned but did not practice in a while. Candidates from across the board can learn the required skills to make better informed management decisions. No prerequisites are needed to enroll.

“Whether participants are engaging in FFAC to obtain a better understanding of fundamental financial accounting concepts, the key differences between U.S. GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), or perhaps to refine their baseline knowledge as preparation in pursuing the more advanced CMA certification, the FFAC program will help,” says Hanady Khalife, IMA Director of Operations, Middle East/Africa region.

The FFAC workshops use a curriculum that covers an overview of all accounting and finance terminologies, financial analysis, and reports on financial activities. The live workshops are centered around accounting cycles, financial statements, revenue recognition, clash flow preparations, IFRS, and much more. After these workshops, candidates sit for a short exam and, upon passing, are granted a professional certificate from IMA.

Workshops will take place upon demand in United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, and Egypt.

The contents covered in the workshops are:

  1. Introduction to Financial Accounting
  2. Fundamentals of Financial Accounting
  3. Period-End Accounting Activities
  4. Financial Statements: An Introduction
  5. Balance Sheet Components
  6. Income Statement Components
  7. Statement of Cash Flows Components
  8. Special Topics in Accounting
  9. Other Financial Statement Information
  10. Annual Report
