Five months ago who knew we would be introduced to novel corona virus. Now the virus has spread in almost every country affecting more than one million people around the world. It has caused severe damage to the economies and caused a burden on fragile health care systems. Almost the entire world is under the lockdown. Just like wars, this pandemic has already imprinted itself upon the psyche of the people.

Research studies about COVID-19

Research studies claim that this virus came from bat but it is also believed that intermediate animal was involved in the same way that another coronavirus (2002 SARS outbreak) moved from horseshoe bats to civets, before infecting humans. As the world is fighting this pandemic, looking for the source and cure of the virus, the USA and China just can’t leave their year’s long animosity aside. As this virus began its destruction around the world, different conspiracy theories emerged within China and the USA to put the blame on each other.

According to a conspiracy theory, there was a book published in 1981 predicted that there would be an outbreak of the virus in Wuhan city in 2019. As the USA and China have political issues, President of the USA Donald Trump called it a ‘China’s virus’ but China’s backlashed that it was planted and injected in the victims by American’s and Britain’s military agencies flamed a whole new debate. Critics point out that it may be possible that the USA has used this virus as a biochemical weapon to contain China’s economic market which is considered as a threat to globalization. But the question is that if it is true then why the numbers of casualties in the USA have surged up three times than China. These are the queries that will be unfolded but with the passage of time.

Talking about some good news, Chinese leaders like to point out that they have achieved extraordinary success in containing the virus by staying at their homes for about three months. Wuhan city, from where this virus originated, is now free from lockdown. China is now offering humanitarian help to hard-hit countries like Italy and also helping Pakistan is as well.

Having said that, and in a moment of actual global crisis, none of these charges will save a single human life or limit the economic fallout. The least China and the USA could do is share date on COVID-19 with each other and with global health institutions. So, that the global community can work together to look for the cure of the virus. Being great economic powers, both these countries could also invest money and scientific expertise in a joint bid to develop treatments and a vaccine. They could work together to create an early monitoring and surveillance system to contain future viral threats before they go global, and propose international standards for preparedness and best practices when the next public-health crisis appears, no matter its source. They could take the lead in creating global reserves of medicine and supplies for future emergencies. They could work together to bolster the global economy.

It is the need of the hour that instead of accusing each other and instead of sharing misleading theories, these two countries could help to put out the fire.
