As the clock hits 12 minutes and 12 seconds past noon today — and the cash starts rolling in — take note the alignment of six ‘12’s’ is a moment which comes but once in 100 years.
Today marks the twelfth day of the twelfth month, in the year 2012, giving people around the country cause for hope the day will lead to providential fortune.
From scheduled cesarean births, to weddings, to closing business deals, celebrity Indian numerologist Sanjay B. Jumaani said the lucrative date was filling people with hope around the globe. It was an auspicious day to “kick-start a new venture or sign a deal”, he said.
The next time such a date would occur would not be til 2112, he said.
According to numerology, number 12 equates to three, because the two digits equal three. Three, Jumaani said, was associated with the biggest planet Jupiter — “the planet of wealth”.
Because number three is linked to Jupiter, as did the current astrological month Sagittarius, the date would “double the affect of Jupiter”.
“I do have a lot of people coming to me asking me (about today) not only in my office, but I have thousands of friends and followers who have been texting and asking about how can they make the best use of the date and whether they should deliver (babies) on that particular day.”
However, he said it was not worth the risk of harming a child in order to try and capitalise on the lucky date, he said.
Despite this salutary warning, a Medcare Hospital spokesman said the Dubai hospital had an appropriate 12 babies due on Wednesday — more than half of which were due to be delivered by cesarean section.
Jumaani said people who were born on days that gave number three were often successful, influential and wealthy — though could tend to be weak and stubborn, he said.
This year’s triple 12 was more important than last year’s triple 11 he said, as 12 was more powerful. The day would best favour Sagittarreans and Pisceans, he said. A popular inner-city hotel, coy about being named, said it had one wedding scheduled for Wednesday with 300 guests, which had been booked well in advance to coincide with the lucky date, a spokeswoman said.
“Always for any event, 11-11-11, 12-12-12 it’s a big event for any wedding. It’s always booked ahead of time, like a year. Especially for a special date.”
There had been a lot of interest in wedding facility bookings, with dozens of phone calls that “started from last year”, she said.
Meanwhile, in a move reminiscent of the bold Apple marketing strategies, etisalat is organising a special midnight launch of the long-awaited iPhone 5. Thirteen of etisalat’s Business Centers across the UAE will stay open from 11pm onwards on December 12, 2012, and sales will begin at midnight.
And the first train from Dubai’s latest metro station, Danube Station, will make tracks, as the station becomes the 28th on the red line — leaving just one left to open. The Metro also opened on a day, month and year that’s hard to forget: 9-9-9.
