Emaar will handle management and support with technicality and administration of Dubai Frame, which will be open to the public in November.

Using its experience with promoting Burj Khalifa and attracting visitors over the past eight years, Emaar will collaborate signed a MoU with Dubai Municipality as an agreement to manage the Dh160 million project.

Eng Hussain Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said testing and operations launch of Dubai Frame will be at the end of October, while the new landmark will be open to the public by November.

The project has been delayed with the official opening slotted for 2015.

On the delay, Lootah said, “the delay was due to choosing the high-quality material. Initially, we used a material that didn’t appear to give justice to the frame.”

He added that using Stainless Steel gold on the cladding gave shine and brightness to the frame that is almost complete.

Ahmed Al Matrooshi, managing director of Emaar Properties, said the company will have a specified and customized plan on promoting the frame and making it accessible to visitors and the public, using their experience with Burj Khalifa.

“Both projects (the frame and Burj Khalifa) are different, so we will be putting up a plan that will be modified regularly.”

A main panoramic elevator will go up through the frame to get to the glass bridge, allowing visitors to see the actual old and modern Dubai, before they get down from the other side.

Lootah said visitors will be able to access the frame through booking tickets via an app. “There will be no paper tickets, and visitors will have to go smart.”

The project is expected to become an iconic symbol added to an array of landmarks in Dubai such as Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab…. see more
