Why We Must Quit World Violence Too

Smoking is a violent activity. Dropping bombs is violence. And they are both the same. We must quit world violence. I won’t say why but if you are really an aspiring (or real) beautiful quitter AND a beautiful joiner… you will know what I mean.

It IS possible so that’s what we should do as a world community of human beings. YES WE CAN. We can learn some coping skills first. Manage the chaos in our own lives so we can get clear about who we are. If a therapist can help please do that.

But we need to be clear so we can find out some wars are necessary but dropping bombs on Syria and not supporting the original rebels….is wrong. It will aggravate what is happening now. The plight of the present refugees will be heightened as false paranoia grows ever more chaotic and cancerous.

Let’s not repeat the whole 911 melodrama again. If we have learned anything we will get that. Mercy and compassion will lead to understanding but the mercy and compassion MUST come first, no paradox. Where were we when it was time to do the right thing (addressing my fellow Americans to be specific) in Syria years ago? We had the ability to see what was really going on and support the ones who were falling into the post Arab-Spring “volunteers” spirit.

A venerated elderly archeologist was martyred for this country at Palmyra and the message is the anger is more valid than the need to calmly recover an unfolding ever receding human past, that can inform and educate our present AND future. And it that seems to be destined to never stop. We now have ISIS attacking the world in a kind of gothic-medieval horrorshow because first, it does get attention and secondly, anger will never disappear because another culture or country wants to exploit it and ignore it’s cry of outraged humanity.

“There is an incoherence in our response to ISIS” said Vijay Prashad to Amy Goodman on 11/16. Please check out the “Democracy Now” show for a video of the interview.

The US is compromising its principles in Libya and in Turkey & Saudi Arabia I myself would say. And now Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq. “Our chickens have come home to roost” said Malcolm X regarding Martin King’s murder. We are not here to sing, we’re here to kill the dove, sang Joan Baez:

And ISIS is a monster but our predatory USA politics has all too much to do with it’s very existence. Barbarism at the end of the Roman Empire had a bit more to do with Rome than we’d like to see in our situation. I understand. But I must say it would be a great idea to quit the idea that any more violence will help anything.

Lets respond by taking even better care of the refugees from that monumental catastrophe in Syria and begin showing more spine and statesmanship in the world. Ordinary people can see what has happened, especially the ones in touch with themselves and people who have learned to quit major elements of bull crap in every way… As Armand Dimele said, to the extent we get in touch with ourselves we are connecting with the whole universe. Anyone else know what I mean?

This is a call for love. Call me a fool. It won’t be the first time I’ve heard it.

But I know there are a lot of you that will tell me I’m totally stupid for not understanding that only a show of force will wall back the dragon, but all I can say is look at the Tarot card for “Strength” on my other article here, Find Inner Light by Understanding Power on my “Beautiful Quitters” website and see if you can imagine a nonviolent interpretation of this.

It’s not a big deal to get it. It IS hard to do it but as I talked about on another post about going cold turkey, that is the way quitters really ending up staying smoke free. Most other techniques turn out to be half-measures.

Making a peaceful world where we have learned to QUIT THE BS will bring us a state of NO violence. It will give us what we all want but most of us forget that’s what we all must have to thrive, and these days we must do it in concert with everyone else. There’s no choice. Freedom if not for everyone, can be for no one. Wanna know about BS? Read “Catcher in the Rye” again. I apologize for nothing I’m saying here.
