The Nawaz Shareef: The Tragedy

Scientist believed that climate changes will bring Pakistan under avalanche of various natural disasters e.g. droughts, floods etc. In addition, increase in temperature will increase the demand of water, which had shaped into a monstrous crisis in Pakistan due to its shortage. In 2012, Haiti, the Philippines and Pakistan led the list of the most affected countries. As per The Climate Risk Index report for 2012, Pakistan scored 12.67 in the Climate Risk Index (CRI) with death toll 662 and losses of 6087.82 m USD. Now according to Climate Risk Index 1993–2012 for the period of 20 years, Pakistan with death toll 469.95 was at rank 12 and with losses of 2394.93m USD it scored 5th position. In Mar 2014, 124 people, majority was children, died due to drought in Tharparker Pakistan, furthermore, these 124 deaths were reported in semi-urban areas whereas nobody knew the plight of hundreds of other villages spreaded across 20,000sq km desert. Nawaz Shareef, as PM of Pakistan, was supposed to reprimand Sindh government by holding it responsible for the deaths of Tharparkerians. Moreover, Nawaz Shareef adequately knew that Pakistan was suffering from energy crisis, food shortage, water shortage, and flooding but so far, he remained unconcerned about the said dire problems whereas he, if was serious enough, could have given orders to built new dams especially KBD so to tackle present and futuristic annihilation of the country.

On 25 Apr 2014, PM Nawaz Shareef had claimed and hence had delivered good news to Pakistanis that 3G & 4G technologies will bring revolutionary changes in Pakistan. Well, no doubt technologies do bring changes but no technology will ever bring any revolution if the very technology didn’t address the prevailing crisis. Pakistan has Goliath of energy shortage, food shortage, water shortage, flooding, unemployment, terrorism, sectarianism etc. How come 3G and 4G will help Pakistanis to tackle their survival problems when every day over 20 Pakistanis died daily because of terrorism, target killing, robberies, murders, suicide etc? Will G3 and G4 curb out corruption, nepotism, politicization of governmental institutions, injustice, inequality, price hike etc? PM of Pakistan once again was found playing asininity and appeared either as a swindler or an ineptitude individual (or maybe combination of both) who wasn’t in the interest of Pakistan at all, thus, under any category Nawaz Shareef simply didn’t know anything about how countries are developed and how issues related to survival and futuristic challenges were resolved? As a matter of fact resources and technology alone didn’t make any country developed until mental Bronze-Age is shunt, thus, none could become civilised and advanced in any way without getting advanced mentally. For example, French authorities detained 4 French policemen as a Canadian lady accused them for raping her, French authorities believed that detention was inevitable “in such sensitive cases when civil servants are involved”. How many steps PM Nawaz Shareef had taken to apply rule of law, one of the biggest problems of Pakistan, so to revolutionize the country instead of straying masses that 3G and 4G will bring revolution in Pakistan?

According to Lahore Electric Supply Co (LESCO), Raiwind was exempted from load shedding as Raiwind Palace of Nawaz Shareef would be provided power without any interruption and for this purpose; two feeders were installed in Raiwind. On contrary common Pakistanis lived either without electricity or endured load shedding of 8 to 20 hours a day. As per Pakistani constitution article 25, every citizen was equal and none was special but democratically elected rulers of Pakistan have been abusing the very constitution, which they were supposed to protect and implement in letter and spirit. Power comes with great responsibilities but Nawaz Shareef alike other traditional politicians or rulers of Pakistan had never cherished any concern for the rule of law and implementation of constitution fairly, thus, why lawlessness would not have been devouring a state where law was implemented for poor and rich differently or law was different for common and special?

American founding father Thomas Jefferson believed that even though a farmer held the title of the land but yet the land belonged to all people, similarly, Pakistan did not became a personal enterprise of anybody if one happened to be its PM or President as Pakistan and all of its resources belonged to Pakistanis in first place. Now principally, resourcefulness of Pakistan must have been spent on the welfare of overall society but rulers, from decades, had used state for either individualistic publicity or as political bribery. Prime Minister Yellow-cab Scheme, Benazir Income Support Progamme, Prime Minister Tractor Scheme, Prime Minister Youth Loan Program, Laptop Scheme etc were the finest examples of state finance usage for individualistic interests. Shahbaz Shareef, the CM of Punjab, on 6 May 2014 announced 100,000 laptops for students—now what a tragedy that the world had boycotted Pakistan because of Polio Virus, Pakistan had become the worst place in South Asia to be a mother, and yet Pakistani Nero-es were playing their own flute of bollocks. It is important to know that Pakistan borrowed 60b USD in 67 years whereas PML-N government within less than a year (June 2013-May 2014) signed for 57b USD loans, but ironically the bulky loans did not change the fate of Pakistan.

23 English language learning centers were threatened to be closed and were asked stop co-education as terrorists believed that both things were Haram or prohibited in Islam. In addition, Lashker-ey-Islam (LI) had warned Tribesmen to admit at least one of their sons in LI seminaries otherwise be prepared to pay PKR 0.4m to outlawed outfit. If some rational, responsible, futuristic, and brave individual would have been PM of Pakistan, then he had declared National Emergency against terrorism and had issued orders to law enforcement agencies to impale such an individual who terrorised Pakistani citizens and damaged Pakistan. Moving ahead, according to economic survey 2014, Pakistan lost 102.5b USD during 13 years war on terror and alone in fiscal year 2013-14 Pakistan lost 6.7b USD due to terrorism, hence, Pakistan was listed on number 10 as failed state in annual fragile state index. But PM of Pakistan, whilst being entirely careless to Pakistan’s sorry plight and acting like an Arab stooge, affirmed that Pakistan will protect Bahrain.

Nawaz Shareef instead of showing responsibility, commitment, and sincerity whilst changing governmental policies from pro-individualistic interests to national interests, Nawaz government was threatening Auditor General of Pakistan. Buland Akhter Rana filed a petition in Islamabad High Court that government is threatening him to resign; otherwise, he can either be killed or can be framed in false cases. Previously, Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik was pressurize to this extend that soon after his restoration on the orders of the court against his removal from his office by the Nawaz government, he resigned from chairmanship of NADRA. On 5 June 2013, during his speech in National Assembly of Pakistan, Nawaz Shareef promised that appointees will be appointed on the basis of merit and he kept his promise with such excellence that Transparency International Pakistan lodged a complaint with Nawaz Shareef over irregularities in appointments of high governmental officials. Moreover, in regard of keeping his words, Nawaz Shareef appointed his daughter Maryam Nawaz Shareef as head of the Youth Programme and Ishaq Darr, Nawaz’s in-law, as finance minister of Pakistan.

Nawaz Shareef, who previously bought 2 BMW 760Li worth 250m PKR, had ordered for a new Mercedes Benz E250 worth 130m PKR for Attorney General of Pakistan Sulman Aslam Butt, who happened to be an apple of eye of Nawaz Shareef. On August 4 AG’s secretary wrote to Javed Aslam, the secretary to the Prime Minister, regarding the provision of a 2400cc vehicle for AG. On contrary, the AG office routes such requests through the law ministry but surprisingly on August 5, Nawaz Shareef not only approved the purchase of a 2400cc vehicle for the AG but he also violated the law as AG is entitled to use 1800cc car only. On the other hand, whilst Nawaz Shareef alike a king was busy in enjoying resources of Pakistan as his born privilege, country was not only devastated by Vladic floods but it was also being swallowed by other governance related felonies and incompetence. For example during Sept 2014, 15 children, in Bahawalnagar District Head Quarter Hospital, died because of substandard medicines. Culprits would have met their doomsday long ago if this had happened in some civilized country but since it was Pakistan, therefore, none was accountable nor none was sensitive enough to make things right. In addition, since priorities of Prime Minister of Pakistan were 180 degrees opposite to state’s priorities, therefore, he had no concerns of any damn thing called good governance. The very situation had denoted that majority of Pakistanis were superlative experts in doing such things that don’t bear any fruit, in addition, Pakistan, from decades, was ruled by such mess that was thoroughly sterile in first place and hence had no such capacities that could have led Pakistan to be relishing the league of respected states whilst filling the bill by making Pakistanis a dignified and lucrative nation through good governance and character building.
