MOVIE mogul Steven Spielberg has ended Oprah Winfrey’s run as Forbes magazine’s most influential celebrity.

The director has topped the 2014 study by Forbes editors, while Winfrey slips to two and Star Wars creator George Lucas rounds out the top three.

Moviemakers Ron Howard and Martin Scorsese round out the top five.

U2 front man Bono also makes the top 10, becoming the top musician on the newForbes list.

Forbes says Oprah has slipped from the top spot because she’s “been taking a more behind-the-scenes role with her OWN network”.

“A celebrity’s ‘Influential’ score represents how that person is perceived as influencing the public, their peers, or both,” Gerry Philpott, president of E-Poll Market Research, tells Forbes.

“If anyone doubts that Steven Spielberg has greatly influenced the public, think about how many will think for a second before going into the water this summer.”

It hasn’t been a great week for the talk show queen. She was among one of the most conspicuous snubs when Oscar nominations were announced Friday morning.
