Popular Arabic weekly and English monthly women’s magazine Sayidaty — a sister publication of Arab News, celebrated in Dubai and Beirut the accumulation of one million Facebook fans on its page on the social networking site. Mohammed Fahad Al-Harthi, editor in chief of Sayidaty and Arab News, thanked the entire team for their efforts over the past months to develop the site and bring it to where it is today. He added that he is optimistic for more fans, and a million fans are only the beginning and a step toward other millions to come, which he said is not far-fetched.
He called for the team to start the ceremony and cut into a white cake labeled “Congratulations for the Million Fans,” and garnished with the logo of Sayidaty, a move that was met with applause and wishes for further successes.
Some staff members from the working team in the Dubai office prepared a video to mark the occasion.
The happiness expressed by Sayidaty fans on Facebook was not less than the joy of the working team. Messages of congratulations were posted all over the site after the video was uploaded. It gained more than 4,000 comments and many views.
In the past few months, Sayidaty has made its strong presence felt on social media and other online avenues. It increased its Twitter followers by 100,000 people.
Sayidaty has an official channel on YouTube containing the latest videos that deal with women in all aspects of beauty, fashion and cooking, as well as the latest celebrity news and concerts. The number of viewers of the Sayidaty video clips on YouTube reached more than 4.8 million views.
In addition, Sayidaty’s social media presence includes accounts on Pinterest, Google Plus, Instagram and soon an account on Kik.
