Less than a year since the Samsung Galaxy S4 was introduced, the Galaxy S5 is already making waves. The much anticipated Galaxy S5 may finally have an accurate image and technical specifications.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is supposedly bigger, wider, tougher, and faster. Like the previous two generations, the S5 will be running Android. Except, rather than running Android 4.0, it is likely that it will be running Android 5.0, codenamed ‘ Key Lime Pie’.

Referring to the image, if your first impression is that it looks a lot like the HTC One, chances are you are on the right track as Samsung is also embracing the full body aluminum design. This allows the phone to be completely sealed off making it dust proof and water proof. Although it is never a good idea to mix electronics and water, Samsung is definitely taking a daring fleet to bringing this phone to new heights or depth I should say.

Moving away from the exterior and into the interior, be prepared to understand what power really means. This phone may be featuring a 2GHz octa-core processor. Currently, it is unsure as to whether or not this is a true octa-core processor. The Galaxy S4 GT19500 model equipped with Samsung’s own chip was also claimed to be octa-core, but instead it was a four by four core design where only four cores could be utilized at a time, making it along the lines of a quad-core processor. In terms of the memory, Samsung is really kicking it up a notch boosting the RAM to 4GB, never before seen on a smartphone.

It’s an S5 so why not a five inch screen? Absolutely why not, the S5 will feature a five inch screen, more specifically it will be 5.2 inches offering easier navigation. To go along with the bigger screen size, this device will also feature a ‘Smart Eye Tracking’ software also possibly to improve navigation. Back to the screen, this will be a mutli-touch capacitive touch screen as usual with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Furthermore, like any smartphone, it will be equipped with the accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, light sensor, and proximity sensor.

Moving on to the camera, Samsung is taking a breather. They sure don’t like to compromise and we are seeing this once again with a 16MP back and 5MP front camera. Although the Galaxy S4 already features a 16MP camera, it’s still top of the line industry level where no other phone comes close to delivering. Once again, Samsung has a way of delivering compromised quality.

The internal storage capacity seems a bit too good to be true, especially as the image shows. While the image shows the storage going up to 128gb, 91Mobiles site tech sheet has a more accurate placement of just 32gb.

Finally, to see if the phone will work on your network, here is a list of the operating frequencies. The frequencies are as followed: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 / UMTS 850 / 900 / 2100 MHz.

The scheduled release date is still unknown, but it is predicted to be in the summer of 2014 to follow the current trend. The Samsung Galaxy S2’s release date was in February, 2011, the Galaxy S3 was released May, 2012, and the Galaxy S4 was released in April, 2013. Following this trend, the Galaxy S5 would be expected to arrive somewhere between March and May of 2014.
