AFP – Russia’s state oil giant Rosneft signed Wednesday an agreement with ExxonMobil to participate in a major project owned by the US super-major in Alaska, state media said. The deal for the Point Thomson project, signed by Rosneft chief executive Igor Sechin and ExxonMobil exploration head Stephen Greenlee in the presence of President Vladimir Putin, extends a strategic agreement that the two companies signed last year focusing on Russia’s Arctic offshore field development.
