Malinga did Magic, Sri Lanka wins

What an innings from Jos Buttler. He will recollect that for whatever remains of his life. Yet the last over strove for four runs; what an over. That is the thing that Malinga does. An incredible session of cricket – splendid: Phil Tufnell

In the 4th ODI, Sri Lanka have won the match with a thriller, if I talk about toss then England, who chose the field and wicket was good for batting but had a lil bit for bowlers.

James Anderson attacked from England and as usual TM Dilshan and KL Perera came to open for Sri Lanka. In start first wicket gone at the score of 26 and player who got out was KL Perera then KM Sanggakara and TM Dilshan played very sensible cricket, TM Scored 71 and Sanggakara scored 112 while facing 156 balls, he played slow but you know

”Slow and Steady wins the race”.

In the middle order Sri Lankan captain AD Mathews added precious 30 runs so Sri Lanka sets a total of exact 300, in fact I should say a big total which was looking difficult to chase.

Well, Sri Lanka started really well when they got first wicket of Cook at just 3 score, Malinga did the magic as always just after it Malinga strikes again when he got the second wicket of Ian Bell, So the score is 2-10 now.. Then GS Ballance and young JE Root played some good cricket both they scored (42, 24).

Then Ravi Bopara played an innings of hope he scored 51 while facing 80 balls, these 80 balls were not many to score because he came in pressure situation. Well when he gone England was looking to saying Good Bye but suddenly JC Buttle started to play aggressive cricket he knew I am only the hope and gradually he took the flight away like f16. He Scored 121, that is his maiden century in ODI. Well the match was in last situation when Sri Lanka needs 11 from 3 balls and JC Buttler got out (run-out) just at this point England realized that they are going to lose this match. Well they thought right, Sri Lanka won by 7 runs. But in last I have to say ”JC Buttler you are Spectacular” batsman to see.
When the match came to end Kevin Pietersen updated a status on FaceBook: I said it a few months back that Jos Buttler is a Super Star& I’m so happy for him! He has to play Test cricket now”

Well KP you got a good Cricket EYE.

Presentation:

Man of the match Jos Buttler: “That’s the best I’ve ever played. It’s brilliant to play that well but it’s disappointing not to get over the line.

“Me and Ravi just had some fun. We didn’t think we could win, but that gave us a license.

“When someone like Malinga comes back at the end, you know it’s going to be hard. Kulasekara bowled a really good penultimate over too.

“The Test side is a different format, so maybe not. I’ve got so many areas in which I can improve as a cricketer.”

Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews: “That was one hell of a game. It was one of the best innings I’ve seen; Jos batted brilliantly. But we saved the best ’til last and it’s pretty hard to get 10 runs of Lasith Malinga. He is the man for us.

“Sangakkara and Dilshan batted extremely well; they set the platform. All in all, 300 was a good score. We know if we get past 250 we have a good chance.”

England captain Alastair Cook: “It was looking pretty bleak before Buttler and Bopara got going. We didn’t get the first 20 overs right.

“We know we have to play the first 30 overs better. There’s a lot of work to do. Jose played so well, I can’t fault him.

“The wicket didn’t do as much as we thought. We fought back well to restrict them to 300.

“Trying to get the right balance of the side is hard. When we get wickets up front, it’s OK.”
