Life Beyond Degree

Our parents set limited goals for us. This is the mind set, My son / daughter will complete his / her education, get a degree and finally job. This is the overall goal set by our parents for us. But Life is Beyond Degree.

Degree will help you to face problems in your life; degree will open the first door in your practical life. Your talent will open the second but it’s your attitude that will open rest of the doors. Now there is a difference between talent and attitude. Talent is your inborn ability while attitude is what you do with your talent. Let me elaborate with an example. Saeed Anwar (famous Pakistani cricketer) was born talented but as “Practice makes man perfect”. He practiced hard. 55 days of consistent practice. He practice for 2 hours, play a game, practice for 2 hours then play a game. Now this is consistency towards your goal. If you have a goal in life you have to make gradual increments on daily basics to achieve your goal.

Problems will be there but “Don’t bring your problems to the marketplace bring your skills”. One of my favorite lines from the movie Rocky Balboa in which Sylvester Stallone to his son “Life is a very mean and nasty place, it will throw you down to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it but it’s not how hard you get hit; it’s how hard you can take and keep moving forward”.

Now the question you might be asking. How to solve your problems; to this there is a technique suggested by Nadeem Chauhan (motivational speaker) in one of his seminars. Suppose if I hold an apple and ask you how many apples I have. Well most of you will say one. But if you do some creative thinking, what’s there in an apple; seeds and what if I plant those seeds, I will get a tree and on that tree I will get infinite apples. What you just did is you simulated the whole process in your brain. The front part of your brain is called cortex of brain. It’s generally called Simulation generator. In order to solve your problems you can simply simulate visualize them in your brain and find solutions by thinking. Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison used this technique to solve problems.

If you have a goal you have to live it every day. First thing in the morning and last thing before sleep visualize your goals with full concentration. And in the end just a quotation to support my talk “Formal education will get you a living but self education will get you a fortune”  Jim Rohn.
