Lebanese carmaker W Motors’ latest super car, Lykan Hypersport, stole the show at the Dubai International Motor Show that opened on Tuesday.
Lykan Hypersport was displayed as a concept at the Qatar Motor Show in January and has now made a daring debut at the Dubai show.
It may not be well-known to car aficionados, but the Lykan Hypersport, priced at $3 million, makes the bold claim of being “the most exclusive car in the world” with only seven cars made per design.
W Motors says it partnered with major players and suppliers in the automotive industry and design sector such as Magna Steyr and RUF Automobile to produce “one of the most luxurious, exclusive and technologically advanced vehicles on the market.”

The Lykan HyperSport’s twin turbocharger generates 750 horsepower with a maximum torque of 1,000Nm, springing 0-100 km/h (0-62m/h) in 2.8 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 395 km/h (245 m/h).
But the Lykan faces fierce competition from the latest models of high-performance cars, such as German aftermarket tuning company Brabus with its Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo “iBusiness.”
“The exclusively appointed luxury” sedan based on the new Mercedes S-Class is powered by a V8 Biturbo high-capacity engine that produces 625 kW / 850 hp (838 bhp) and reaches a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph).
BRABUS also revealed its B63S – 700 Widestar — a Mercedes-Benz GL63 AMG taken to the extreme with 700 horsepower and a top speed of 300 km/h.

The new model of the Brabus 700 will be available in Dubai in 2014, and the company will only manufacture 100 cars priced at around $500,000, Radwan Ogali General Manager of Brabus Dubai told Al Arabiya, adding that the competition is fierce between super cars makers.
There are about 700 models exhibited at the Dubai car show, with classical or vintage cars making a comeback among the renowned brands like Mercedes, Austin- Healey, Ford and Chevrolet.
Most cars displayed on the first day of the show have been bought or reserved by visitors.
One of the most awaited models by car enthusiasts was the Bugatti Veyron with the release of new colors of the car.
Despite the presence of many cars from China, South Korea and Eastern Asia, European brands were the most appealing to visitors of the show especially Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, Alfa Romeo and Spania GT.
The current show will grow in size by 35 percent compared to the last one held in 2011 with more than 100,000 people expected to visit, Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President, Dubai World Trade Centre and organizer of the show told Al Arabiya.
