How to make your SEO strategy better?
We have all heard about SEO and how it helps the websites rank higher in the web search results. The keyword is essential here and based on that your ranking is determined. There is organic SEO where people search themselves for the keywords by entering queries such ‘good hairdressers in XYZ territory’. Here, ‘hairdressers’ is the keyword and based on this the content with the most occurrences of word hair + dressing will reflect in search results.
It also happens if the customers who are satisfied with the services leaves positive feedback which makes a certain hairdresser appear higher in the search results. Other than that there is an approach called inorganic, which is paid stuff and by paying the premium you make your site appear higher in the search results.
The practice, however, is becoming old and room for improvement is always there. So, if you are relatively new to this and want to start a website of your own, conduct a thorough market research. By market research, you will gain consumer insights as to what they so gravely desire. If it is the eCommerce platform they desire, set up shop with eCommerce in mind. The google keyword planner is your best friend in this regard. That will become your operating niche as customers equipped with internet knowledge are likely to benefit from your website.
The next step would be to opting for a domain which is pretty basic. It is the brand that you are building should have a unique value proposition. Be creative, and have a long list of content written for pages and titles in your arsenal. A CMS platform in the form of WordPress can come in handy. The next step would be to balance SEO practices by focusing on your niche by employing techniques that would engage your audience.
Try splitting SEO efforts by 40% bit to on-page SEO content such as internal links, breadcrumbs etc. 20% should be assigned to link building practices with special focus on citable/reliable sources. Another 20% to social media platforms by saving hack links or IFTTT to allow for simultaneous posting to Twitter, Facebook and Google+ pages.
Page optimisation can occupy your 10% and the remaining 10% can be left for testing such as infographic creation or creating of dummy social media account to speed up traffic generation. So for your SEO to improve your foundations must be strong. A good website will be easier to navigate, will have relevant content, and would entail faster loading times.
The tools which can help you boost results are, in addition to WordPress above, Google Analytics, Google trends, Google/Bing webmaster tools, among others. WordPress is crucial and its plugins can do wonders for your SEO campaign. The must haves are; Yoast SEO, WP Twitter Autopost, W3 Total Cache, Google libraries etc.
The essence lies in the fact that time is money and with the pace the world is growing, it would be wise to enact the SEO campaign/websites in the light of above advice and tools (although the list is not exhaustive), therefore, my advice is to keep exploring and not limit yourself by sticking to a single plan.
