Egyptian President will address joint session of Pakistani parliament in visit

Egyptian President Muhammad Mursi will address the joint session of Parliament during his three-day visit to Pakistan.

President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday convened the joint session of Parliament on November 23. Mursi is due to arrive in Islamabad on November 22 for a bilateral visit and a multilateral summit, making him the first Egyptian President to visit the country in 37 years. His bilateral agenda will be initiated at the end of the D-8 Summit, which will be inaugurated by President Zardari.

During his stay in the capital, Mursi will hold separate talks with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on mutual cooperation in various fields, while Chief of the Army Staff Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call on him.

The first democratically-elected president of Egypt will be awarded with an honorary doctorate degree by NUST University before his return on November 24.
